8 slices of sandwich bread
2 cups of milk
4 large eggs
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Butter or oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice the bread into sticks, about 1 1/2 – 2 inches in length.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is smooth.
- Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat and add a little bit of butter or oil to the pan.
- Fully saturate each stick in the mixture, shake off the excess, and place in the hot pan.
- Cook the sticks for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove the sticks from the pan and repeat in batches until all sticks are cooked.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
