How do you make buffalo chicken tacos?

First, you will need to prepare your base ingredient, aka the filling. For these tacos, it starts with cooked, shredded chicken.

You have the option to choose between rotisserie chicken, chicken that’s been cooked in the slow cooker or leftover chicken, depending on what’s available. But whatever grilled chicken you have on hand will work.

The chicken is then tossed in a homemade buffalo sauce that I will show you how to make. Then it’s ready to be layered into tacos.

My mouth is watering just by writing this, let alone making it.

Now that your filling is all ready, it’s time to make your spicy buffalo sauce.

How do you make buffalo sauce?

Buffalo sauce is basically made with hot sauce, butter, and some honey.

Frank’s Red-Hot Sauce works best for my taste; I think it helps achieve the most authentic flavor.

The butter and Honey, on the other hand, serve to temper the acidity and heat of the hot sauce, making it taste a perfect mix of hot and mild, convenient for everyone.

Now, after the chicken is tossed and well covered in buffalo sauce, it’s time to start assembling your tacos.

You can either go simple with your tacos and add toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and ranch or go a little wild and add some extra flavors; there are tons of additions that are sure to take your tacos to the next level, such as:

  • Blue cheese
  • Green onions
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Avocado

What taco shells should you use?

When it comes to taco shells, there are mainly two options you can choose from, again, depending on your preference.

I go with soft flour tortillas for my buffalo chicken tacos, but you could go with hard taco shells if you’re in for some crispiness.
